Hurstville Plaza

Installed: 2019 – Removed: March 2021(Temporary)

Mulga is a street artist, illustrator and ‘artrepreneur’ from Sydney, known for his colourful and magical creations.

Known for his unique style of intricate line work and bright colours, Mulga’s concept was to represent the animals native to the countries of origin of people living in the St George area. Mulga’s art brings to life a world where tropical bearded men run rampant, lions smoke tobacco pipes, tigers wear diamond sunglasses and gorillas rule the world like some kind of funky planet of the apes.

His creative portfolio to date is an impressive one with over 60 shows under his belt, winner of AS Colours Little Help Project t-shirt design competition, gold at the Illustrators Australia awards, multiple finalist and people’s choice winner of Hazelhurst’s Art on Paper prize. Mulga has created art for brands such as Samsung, Coca Cola, Toyota, Subaru, Hyundai, Red Bull, Carlton, MTV, Adidas, Microsoft, Slurpee, Jagermeister, Berocca, Universal Music, Mambo, Oporto and more.
