Georges River Council is seeking Expressions of Interest from artists/teams of artists to create and install a number of artworks to contribute to Un[contained], a three day arts and culture festival in the Georges River area in June 2022.
Un[contained] expands and challenges the ideas of what ‘art’ is, breaking it free of a traditional gallery space and letting it take over the streets. Audiences will be drawn to the area by a series of transformed shipping containers placed among large-scale installations, with pop-up and small discoverable artworks within Kogarah. Our community will engage with a diverse range of immersive and creative art experiences involving objects, performance, sound, light, and colour.
Georges River Council welcomes applications from artists/teams of artists across five categories:
- Large scale community participatory artwork (up to 2 artists selected)
- Small pop-up artworks (up to 3 artists selected)
- Performance art pieces (up to 10 artists selected)
- Mural/Street art (up to 6 artists selected)
- Installation artwork (up to 3 artists selected)
Please read the Expression of Interest for the full project brief and for guidelines on how to apply for this opportunity.
Expressions of Interest close at midnight on Sunday January 30, 2022.
Please direct any questions you may have about this project to Marsha Canning, Museum & Gallery Officer, Hurstville Museum & Gallery on (02) 9330 6444 or email@example.com
